Andrea Granahan in The Press Democrat is reporting that there will be new faces on the fire district board as a result of the November 5th election. Andrea reports that "All three incumbents running for re-election were voted out by solid margins. Challenger Charlie Bone garnered the highest number of votes, 294, 24.7 percent of the total. Constance Clover came in second with 250 votes, 21 percent. David Kruppa got 235 votes, 19.8 percent."
The next board meeting will be at 7:30pm in the Burke Room at the Fire Station. Members of the public are welcome to attend. The new increase in the tax rate will be on the agenda for this meeting.

The new members of the Fire District Board will need ideas other than those they regurgitated at last month’s LWV-sponsored meeting at the Grange to keep the District afloat. I advocate ALL members of our community collectively
take on the Board of Supervisors, demanding our fair share of all fees collected from tourists. Raising taxes is not the answer.
Let me understand the issue: we need more money so we can rescue more non-residents from foolish activities that cause them to call the fire district personnel to rescue them. Don’t we ever collect anything from them?
