This picture was taken April 20, 2013 looking southeast from Duncans Cove at Highway 1. Note the second seagull looks like it is coming out of the water, but this is really an illusion caused by one of its wings--nothing has been photoshopped or added to this raw picture.

"One of the most deadly beaches in California," according to signs at the beach, on account of a steep beach face combined with a deep long shore trough and sleeper waves. I'm no surfer, but I can see why it would be tempting for them.
